Icon Audrey Hepburn once said, “You will find that you have two hands. One is for helping yourself and the other is for helping others.” On March 1st if you visit FoxFire, you will have an opportunity to both, as we are proudly hosting a Tip-a-Cop event to support local Special Olympic athletes.

During this unforgettable evening, guests will be treated to the same award winning menu you’ve come to know and love in our intimate, yet elegant setting, while being served by Geneva Police Officers. These “celebrity servers” will be taking orders and assisting our servers throughout the evening.  Tips that are collected throughout the evening will be going to the Illinois Special Olympics.

Special Olympics is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition. Special Olympics began in Illinois with the first games at Soldier Field in July 1968 thanks to the efforts of Eunice

Kennedy Shriver and her peers, and is proudly celebrating its 50th anniversary. Currently there are more than 4.5 million athletes in 170 countries. Special Olympics Illinois is currently serving about 10-percent of those eligible to participate, and is always working to increase this reach, so the need is great.

Giving new meaning to “serve and protect” these officers are showing the pride they have for these very special athletes while participating in this event. Also featured during the evening will be a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to the same cause and free wine tasting from 6:30pm. – 8:30pm. Included will be speciality wines from wine maker Kerith Overstreet Bruliam Winery out of California, featuring Pinots and Zinfandel.

By supporting this event, you are doing your part in transforming the lives of these very special local athletes. Special Olympics Illinois does not charge athletes or their families to participate in the program so events like this are crucial.
