The band is back! Live Jazz at FoxFire this Saturday! The Paul Abella Trio is a unique band on Chicago's Jazz scene. The combination of guitar, bass and cajon is sparse and earthy. Their playing is undeniably funky, their choice in setlists is...eclectic, and their sense of humor is immediately apparent within a minute or two of them being on stage. They're going to have a good time, and they'd prefer that you have a good time with them. Taking their cues from The Meters, Booker T. and the MG's, The Bar-Kays and The Funk Brothers, The Paul Abella Trio is a soulful, grooving Jazz group that can fit in a corner, dish out some blues, funk and soul with solid, thoughtful improvisations, while keeping nearly anyone, regardless of their musical tastes, tapping their feet all night long.
